Structure and Approximation in Physical Theories
The current quantity comprises 14 contributions provided at a colloquium on "Structure and Approximation in actual Theories" held at Osnabruck in June 1980. The articles are provided within the revised shape written after the colloquium and for that reason additionally take account of the result of the dialogue on the colloquium.

These test areas were selected because their surface patterns and vegetations are typical of relevant climatological and morphological zones in Europe. Both Landsat and Skylab multi-spectral scanning (MSS) data were used. The different MSS-data were radiometrically corrected; the statistics for the various bands were calculated on the basis of samples of a few hundred pixels. Atmospheric corrections, and corrections relating to the angle of illumination were not made. 29 30 2) J. Bodechtel, D. Davidts and R.
The equations were checked on the whole sample and on different subsamples. 3. 0006 E 2 (2) 2 E and E f are measured in W/m . This second order expression has a maximum value but is has no special significance since it lies outside the interval in which the data occur. 803. In Table 1 correlation coefficients are shown for some subsamples choiced according to system albedo and geographical latitude. It can be seen from the second column of Table 1 that in the cases Surface Radiation Balance 57 of very low (^15 %) system albedo the correlation coefficient does not exist, that is the curve fits badly.
